THEATRE BOX Provides 'Rumble Relief' At The Interval
Press Release - 15th February 2006

You know the scenario … Keyed up and looking forward to the theatre, you dash there straight from the office. You meet your friend and find your seats just as the realisation dawns that your lunchtime sandwich was hours ago and you are ravenous. Now you can barely hear the dialogue over rumblings from your stomach and people in surrounding rows are casting disapproving glances in your direction … "Please", you beseech silently, "let there be food at the interval .." Well, now your prayers have been answered!

Innovative catering company THEATRE BOX is filling a much-needed gap in the market (and the stomach) by producing an elegant box of canapés to accompany drinks at the interval.

Launched last night (14 February) at the Piccadilly Theatre, London to the gourmet delight of visitors to the musical 'Guys and Dolls', it proved to be a sell-out success. The company plans to roll out THEATRE BOX to other London venues in the near future.

Containing twelve delicious cold canapés, THEATRE BOX can be purchased pre-performance or during the interval at the bar. When the lid of the distinctive burnt orange / terracotta and brown box is folded back, it conveniently holds one glass and reveals a stylish drawer filled with indulgent canapés.

The menu is seasonal and the box currently contains: smoked salmon; marinated prawns; duck with mango salsa; basil-scented ratatouille; rare beef fillet and spinach roulade.

The brain-child of television distribution company owner Andrew Sparke, the inspired idea for THEATRE BOX occurred to him four years ago during a trip to the States where food was served during a cinema intermission.

Priced at £15 (including VAT), THEATRE BOX is a revolutionary and gastronomic treat for theatre-goers, whether dining before or after the performance.
