Guys and dolls attending performances at the Piccadilly Theatre no longer have to worry about squeezing in supper before the curtain rises. Theatre Box is a pack of 12 gourmet canapés for nibbling in the bar or during the interval. No drab vol-au-vents or mini pizzas here, either: the seasonal menus include fresh fusion-y items such as spiced duck breast in filo baskets with coriander cream and mango-chilli salsa, and beef fillet on ciabatta with purple onion marmalade and wholegrain mustard. Each £15 box contains two of each canapé, making them suitable for sharing, or hoarding. We give the canapés a rave review, while the smart Hermes-style box that cleverly folds back to hold your wine glass deserves a standing ovation.
